Col. Charles Albert Watrous, 65, an architect who designed many of the fine homes of Des Moines died Christmas day of a heart ailment at his home 2928 Ingersoll Ave. He had been ill several months and returned home from the veterans hospital 10 days ago. Born in Des Moines, Colonel Watrous' parents were Charles Leach Watrous and Sophia Watrous. Their homestead on S. W. Ninth st. was the scene of many activities in pioneer days.
